HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE!

I didn't stick to my word about uploading, like I said in the previous post I wasn't holding up on it to get a post up, never mind two! 2016 came around pretty fast, doesn't feel like two seconds ago that it was the start of 2015. I'm very surprised actually that I have got round to doing another post in the new year. I was starting to think is this something I want to try and do, I had yet another good think about it and yes, it is something I am very much interested in and something I want to keep up. I don't have any hobbies whatsoever so why not push myself and take this on as a hobby, who knows what will happen. I am still learning this whole blogging game and learning on how to write posts and structure them together. I don't expect the posts that are already up (and this one) to be well developed and structured, I'm no expert. Hopefully they will progress in time and my writing and structuring will improve. Anyway, I was thinking that to start the New Year off I would do a little favourites post (bit generic I know) showing some of my fave products of the last year and giving my opinion/mini review on them. Whether you're interested or not, here it is...

MAC MATTE LIPSTICK - VELVET TEDDY

I was a bit late in jumping on the bandwagon with this one. It seems like a good majority of people own this lipstick. It was actually my first MAC lipstick purchase too. At the time of me purchasing this, I wasn't really keen on paying the price for a high end lipstick, not just MAC but any high end branded product in general. Saying this, I already purchased an high end product but it was on offer and I had the money to splurge but that's another story, is that kinda contradicting myself? But as I am writing this post, my high end purchases are increasing ever so slighty. It doesn't help following bloggers and vloggers on Instagram and watching those vloggers on YouTube too, showing those beauty products that gives you that impulse of wanting them there and then. I am pretty much caving in here there and everywhere now. Back to the lipstick, I can't say enough good things about this lipstick. I'm in love. I remember going to a MAC counter in Selfridges and literally asking one of the MAC people "do you have that generic lipstick Velvet Teddy?", like does that even make sense? Oh dear god, I did get a funny look from them. It goes on so nice and does what it says on the packaging, how "generic". What I have learnt from using this is to not put it directly onto dry lips because I find a bit hard to get off and it dries my lips out a bit. I have since started applying a lip balm/chapstick when wearing this and it isn't that drying and a bit easier to get off. Overall, its an all rounder and I loveeeee it.

LUSH ULTRABLAND FACIAL CLEANSER AND TEA TREE WATER TONER WATER

I can't say enough good things about these two Lush products. I have either left my skin feeling a little bit dry or a little oily. Surprisingly I had heard little about this product and read about it in a few blogs and seen it used in a few YouTube videos. What I love the most about these products and what you will already know is how they are made with natural/fresh ingredients. My face feels so refreshed and clean when I use these two products together and with the cleanser, a little definitely goes along way. I scoop a little on my finger and distribute it evenly on my face and not too harsh so I don't give myself redness from working the product in. Then I use a cotton pad and spray about five pumps of the toner water onto the pad and massage the pad on my face and work the two products together. After a while of having the products on my face, it feels so smooth and fresh looking. Anyhow, overall I would highly recommend this product, it seriously does make a difference and I have noticed a change in the appearance of my skin.

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION ULTIMATE WEAR FOUNDATION - PORCELAIN 1

I am very specific when it comes to foundations. I have tried so many in my time and its been a bit of a drag trying to find a suitable one and this one has done the job for me so far. It feels light on the skin and not too heavy, which you can find with some foundations. One thing I would say with this foundation is use a little when applying it. Looking at the second picture, I would say use half of that. Using a full pump gives an impression that seems a little full on in terms of feeling "cakey" almost. Using a small amount and a good brush to apply it with, gives a good coverage and would last for a good couple of hours (I'd say at least between six to eight hours) and will see you through the day. Sometimes I have had to have a powder touch up throughout the day but other than that, I would say this is a good affordable foundation on the high street. The accompanying concealer (the famous Lasting Perfection Concealer) works amazingly along with the foundation but I think I will leave it there cause I could go on and on with how good that concealer is. Maybe leave that for review on its own.

Finally got round to posting this, I am quite proud of myself. Hopefully I will get one up next week. I have my works Christmas party next week (I don't understand why its in January but yeah) so I might do a party make up look post on that so yeah...
